Hi @Arose62 so we’re re-doing card image on home screen - mock up here
Roll up to Round-up & 1.4 App Release notes
@CaptainXinja no probs thanks for letting me know.
Don’t want to sound like a killjoy, but I’m not a fan of that home screen mock up. It actually makes the issue that a lot of people are complaining about even worse… the transactions listed on the home screen are not required. What I’d like to see is the actual account tiles themselves being as small as those transaction tiles.
At the moment the account tiles are far to big, and you’re about to make them even bigger
Hi thanks @brett - we’ve had quite a few people complaining they want to see first few transactions on first screen without having to go further…this design is not yet fixed so will feedback additional POV…
Ok, glad it’s not locked in. Just my opinion of course, but the home screen should be an overview of all accounts, preferably without scrolling, but that will depend on how many accounts people end up with.
One press on the account is all it takes to see the transaction list, so I wouldn’t be compromising the home screen experience based on that feedback you’ve had (remember, not all feedback is good feedback
)
I agree with @brett , seeing the last few transactions seems… pointless if its a click away.
Besides, that space will most likely be used by “billstash”/“brettstash”/whatever the bills account that is coming is called. Another option would be to have customisable buttons e.g. I’d like the big button to be “View Transactions”, and the three small buttons to be “Account details”, “card”, and “categories” (wink wink nudge nudge on that feature
). That would take up about half the size of the mockup vertically, which should leave enough room for the bills account and stash account on most screens and still have their “view transactions” buttons.
I must say though I do like the $5 round up option! And thanks a million for the faster animations! Now to train my automated banking script to read the round-up details…
Erk… to me, that’s even worse
At least turn the pink card to landscape, so it doesn’t push stuff off the bottom of the screen.
I just want to park savings, and earn interest, so if you let me move the Stash card above the bank account card, I don’t care how big or complicated the bank account card is.
I’m really only interested in Stash.
Thanks as always for the frank and valuable feedback everyone, seems that customisation is the winner every time
Agree with @brett about the tiles and accounts.
Had a question about the round ups. If the cost of something is a whole dollar eg coffee for $1 would this be rounded to the nearest next dollar? eg. if the round up is $1 it’ll be rounded up to $2 and if it’s $5 it would go to $5?
Would there be a way to see all the accumulated round ups for the financial year in future updates?
@xinja_blair I think in the first instance common sense should be the winner!
Any user experience designer worth their salt can see that the current home screen is a mess. Anyone who believes making that problem even worse is a good thing probably needs to have a re-think
Loving round ups already. Visually the way it’s displayed, with the round up icon next to to the transaction, looks really neat.
@brett I would say that Xinja probably has a UX person on the team so it’s not really pleasant to them calling it a mess.
To the Xinja team I have a functional issue with the feature
It looks like transactions that auth and settle at the same time, are the only ones that round up.
Transactions marked as pending and then settle a few days later are not rounding up.
Apologies for using the main forum. If you have a community issues and big forum feel free to redirect this comment .
@Dazza There is key information hanging off the home screen meaning unnecessary scrolling, elements sitting over the top other elements, selectable options found in multiple places. There’s no nice way to say it, the app in it current form is a mess and needs improvement. No point dancing around it to make people feel good.
Getting alot of freezing and glitches with the app on ios.
When opening app it will freeze sometimes then have to open again.
I have the same problem on my Samsung A20, the cross appears but the delete function does not execute.
Hmmm @Dazza that doesn’t sound quite right for Round Up - I’ll find out some more info and get back to you.
@Hinesy31 - can you let me know what version of the app and which iOS device you’re using? There were certainly issues when the Round Up update was released but I believe this was resolved within a day or two with a new update. Please send me any screenshots you have to pass on to our dev team.
@peter2 - is this for the Round Up feature or for transactions? And is this for the 7.1 version of the app? So sorry the app isn’t running smoothly!
I’m having similar problems to @Hinesy31 - freezes a lot & have to restart app.
Not sure if my recent problem doing transfers (Cannot contact server) is related.
Xinja app v 1.4 (6627); iOS 13.3.1 on iPhone X
Hi @peter2 we aren’t going to be able to fix the in ability to delete home page item for Android till 1.5 - which should be next week - various other changes coming at the same time including much better logout process…
@Dazza just checking whether these are ‘pre-auths’? That means not a regular pending transaction (ie: done but hasn’t cleared yet) but offline/held so things like vending machines, opal, hotel deposits, ‘Ritual’ - some info here https://help.xinja.com.au/hc/en-us/articles/360018090232
Also, we don’t round up on a round dollar figure if you have a dollar round up (obviously). Would yours fall into that category or what kind of transaction was it? Sorry to probe but it will help us get to the bottom of it!
Thanks for both responding.
Two transactions. Both were marked as pending for which I expected no roundup. I think only one was an auth transaction. The other was a pre auth of $1.00 which then calculated to an actual amount of $6.13.
However, both have since been marked as settled.
So I expected, rightly or wrongly that once settled the roundup would be triggered.
So broadly speaking once an auth is captured and settled shouldn’t that trigger a round up?
Amounts were $6.13 and $2.50. Round up set to nearest $5.00
Hi @Dazza - thanks so much for the info. We have pre-auths set to NOT round-up at all - even once settled. We are reviewing that but meanwhile they won’t. However, all other pending transactions should round-up at transaction moment (ie: you DON’T wait till settled) but sounds like you’ve got pending transactions that are NOT pre-auths that aren’t rounding up?
Thanks @CaptainXinja.
Yep it is working as you described. I tried two transactions today for round up.
One a vending machine tagged as a pre auth marked as pending. No round up.
The other at a cafe which shows as pending but here the round up occurred.
A little bit confusing just looking at the transactions in isolation though.
However, I can see why you would not want to round up a pre-auth as the settled transaction amount can be different.
Hopefully after review it might be decided to include pre auths post settlement for round up.
Thanks!
